Good fashion top, July 26, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Black Faux Leather Fashion Boned Corset for the price. This is a beautiful faux leather fashion 'corset'. It comes with a rigid busk and is laced with a thick black ribbon. As the boning is lightweight and the faux leather a single layer, this is NOT a true corset. What it IS is a beautiful overbust fashion 'corset' that is very soft and comfortable on the inside. This would be wonderful for a non-period shoot or for a night of dancing. The sizes are a bit wonky, though.. I am a US dress size 7 and due to my bust size ordered the XL which was a very comfortable fit.
It's a great quality for the price and I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

You Get What You Pay For I Suppose, March 23, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Black Faux Leather Fashion Boned Corset Decent corsets normally run $45 and up to $350. I own approximately 20 of them. Some were custom made, some were off the rack from a variety of places including Fredrick's and some overseas sellers through eBay. I was delighted to find this seemingly beautiful corset for such a low price. A girl can never have too many, you know!
The corset is cut true to size, my complaint is with the overall design and quality of the material. The eye and loop hooks refuse to stay closed, (once you get the steel "buttons" in their proper eyes, (they are difficult to manage as the hole for the eye is not very big), they keep popping open, even though I ordered the correct size and should have had no such problem. After I went round and round with the closures, I stood up to see the item on and looked in the mirror. Let me tell you, it's a far cry from what is described on the Amazon site. The "faux leather" is a flimsy coating of vinyl over cheap cloth. It is very thin, and doesn't feel as... Read more

The fabric is soft inside and has a nice faux leather look. It's not super heavy fabric, so you may see the line of your waistband if you are wearing something underneath. The busk (clasps down the front) are steel. I'm not sure if the boning is plastic or spiral steel bones, but either way, they are really flexible, so this is certainly NOT a tight lacing corset or anything like that. If you are wanting significant waist reduction, look elsewhere. It is nice for a bit of a nip in the waist. It's more straight across the top than sweetheart, but I still like it. For the price, it's great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is because I wish there was boning between the laces and the back opening. This would give the corset a but more structure and keep the laces from stretching or warping the fabric.
